About King Jewelers
King Jewelers has been the chosen retailer for luxury goods since Louis King, an immigrant watchmaker, founded the business in Philadelphia in 1898. By 1902, Louis caught the “Gold Rush” fever and moved west to Salt Lake City to establish King & Co., a mining and trading post. This endeavor evolved into a jewelry specialty store by 1912, marking the official birth of King Jewelers in the heart of Salt Lake City. The journey from a small watch repair shop to a burgeoning jewelry store set the foundation for a legacy of excellence that has thrived through generations.
The Great Depression led to the closure of the Philadelphia location, shifting the family’s focus to Atlantic City and later to Miami Beach, a major tourist hub. Under the guidance of Abe King and his son Martin, King’s Jewelers became synonymous with outstanding jewelry, innovative designs, and personalized service. By the 1930s, the store was a magnet for celebrities like Babe Ruth, and by the 1960s, the Kings were leaders in the diamond business, establishing Florida Diamond Brokers and an international office in Antwerp, Belgium. This expansion underscored their commitment to providing exceptional quality and service, propelling King Jewelers into a new era of luxury retail.
In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, King Jewelers continued to adapt and expand, moving their operations to South Florida’s prestigious Boca Raton and eventually opening a store in Nashville, Tennessee. Today, the fifth generation of the King family, led by David and Jono King, upholds the family’s commitment to quality and first-class service. As King Jewelers celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012, it reaffirmed its reputation as a premier destination for fine jewelry, Swiss watches, and wholesale diamonds, continuing to dazzle a diverse clientele with its exquisite collections and bespoke service.
